Canon Character Information
Appearance: 5'10" and lithe, Lyndon has dark blond hair and wears his facial hair thick but groomed. He tends to swagger when he walks, and holds himself with confidence. He tends to dress in loose clothes and leather armor, and is never found far from his heavy crossbow and ample supply of bolts. He has a charming smile, which he flashes often in most non-serious conversation. When the conversation does turn serious, his demeanor changes to one of awkward shyness and he becomes hesitant and quiet in his speech where most of the time his words are a confident and flirtatious bravado.

History: Right here!

Personality: On the surface, Lyndon presents himself as a lavish, self-serving, lecherous rogue who has absolutely no concern for anyone other than himself and nothing except his own greedy desires. He's a con artist and a thief, as passionate about the pursuit of treasure as he is the pursuit of the latest pretty lady he's laid eyes on, and he's not above using his charming charisma and wit to seduce his way into an innocent farmer's daughter's bed to further his own pursuits. Having grown up an orphan, having on his brother Edlin, whom he now feels responsible for ruining, to depend on and having been betrayed by the only woman he's ever loved for his own brother, Lyndon keeps most people at an arm's length at least. The more people believe him to be a selfish bastard, the less likely he is to end up caring about them in the long run. To Lyndon, this makes life much more simple, and loss much easier to stomach.

Ever a lover of material pleasure and wanton in his pursuit of the thrills of adventure, it could be said that, while Lyndon grew up in a very harsh and unforgiving environment, he was slightly naive in how everything could end. Even in the light of everything he's been through, seen, and all the suffering he's endured, as well as all the suffering and loss he's experienced since joining the Nephalem in his quest to save the world, he's never lost his ability to hope things will turn out better than they seem. He doesn't do this blindly, though, even going to far as to note, in confidence, how painful each disappointment is when things turn out so badly.

His selfish and at times gluttonous pursuits of thrills and treasure are balanced with and often at odds with his dogged loyalty to the few people he does, actually, let in and allow himself to care for, and cares little for others' opinions of himself, doing none of his arguably heroic feats or claims for the recognition, and never even really calling attention to them. To spite their falling out and Edlin's belief that Lyndon had something to do with his imprisonment, he defends his brother in conversation, and admits it was he who made all the bad decisions. He's also vowed revenge for Leah, who's mother used her and led to her utter destruction in the most brutal way possible, refused to leave the fight against demon lords and fallen angels to spite the near hopelessness of it and being given every chance to simply walk away, and even stood up in defense of Kormac (a man who seemingly despises him on sheer principle) in the face of the Templar's betrayal at the hands of his own order.

While deceptive and wily, Lyndon is far from a coward, never wavering in combat or backing down from a fight or from obligation. Even before his brother's betrayal at his wife's hands, Lyndon felt responsible for his brother's imprisonment and send the majority of his ill-gotten treasure from around Sanctuary back to Kingsport to help pay off his brother's debt, and to feed his wife and children in Edlin's stead.

In conversation, Lyndon can come off as uncaring and flippant. His tone is often boisterous and jesting, his sense of humor sarcastic and normally used to poke fun at the situation at hand, though since the death of his brother, that wit has taken one a more sharpened edge. In the few moments, with people he trusts, he becomes serious, his voice changes drastically, becoming quiet and withdrawn, short and direct without distraction or joking language. It doesn't take long, normally, for him to cover up his underlying melancholy with his usual banter, though.

Powers/Abilities/Talents:
  • Crossbow: Since he could hold one, Edlin trained Lyndon in the use of a heavy crossbow. Considering how heavy and sometimes awkward these weapons are proves not only is he very talented with their use (he rarely misses in combat), he also possesses a lot of upper-body strength.
  • Thievery skills: Lockpicking, slight-of-hand, moving silently. Lyndon rarely meets a lock he can't open (though he's no safe-cracker), is deft enough to steal a ring from someone's finger while they're talking, and is very stealthy.
  • Everyone on Sanctuary can use magic to an extent, though some are so limited in it's use that the applications are very subtle. Lyndon has two magic tricks up his sleeve: he can shift himself for about 4 seconds into a realm of shadow, disappearing and reappearing somewhere nearby. He can also empower his crossbow bolts to do a little extra explosive damage in the form of arcane.
  • He has knowledge of the creation and application of herbal poisons, which he uses to make his crossbow bolts more deadly and to make the nasty monsters attacking him sluggish.
  • He also has knowledge of anatomy, which he uses to know where to shoot something to do the most damage or to cripple it to beat a hasty retreat.

What 4 items would you like your character to have with them on the island during their stay? A simple dagger with a hollow hilt containing a note that says "Lyndon. I did it. Come find me if you want revenge. - Rea", a small crossbow that would fit well in a child's hand, a set of shabby and worn lockpicks, and a newly minted gold coin stamped with the seal of the Merchant's Guild bank.
